Irish band Pilgrim St crown a two-year run of sold-out theatre and festival shows with the release of their long-awaited debut album – Ash Into Gold Dust
A democracy in the best sense of the word, Pilgrim St’s sound - influenced by bluegrass, old time country and folk music from home and abroad - is based around a stunning selection of songs written by the band’s three songwriters, whose different styles blend beautifully.
Witness Peadar Farrelly’s gorgeous “Never Gets Old” (the first single from the album) nestling alongside Eugene Donegan’s bluesy “Hurt People Hurt People”, Eoin McDonnell’s beautiful mandolin-led instrumental “Go dtí Sin” and Brendan Kelly’s brilliantly cinematic opener “Ballad of Anton Dunne” and you’ll start to understand why the band has built up such a ferocious live reputation over the last couple of years.
Ash Into Gold Dust was co-produced by the band with their long-time live sound engineer Mark Cahill at Crookedwood Studios in County Meath and is available on CD from the band’s web store at

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our fans who attend our concerts and buy our music. Without your support we would not have gotten so far on this great journey.
We would also like to thank our families and friends for their encouragement and support throughout the making of this album.
'Pilgrim St is a band that has evolved over its years. Since I joined, I have seen a growing interest in creating our own original music, the themes of which are quite diverse, ranging from lyrics about loss, love and bittersweet memories to the downright mysterious and dark songs. One thing that is constant with Pilgrim St is the regular rehearsals that are key to tightening the sound, exploring what works in the music and designing the presentation and feel of the tours on which we embark regularly. That said, there is never a rehearsal that is not full of slaggings, and you need a thick skin!
Pilgrim St, until now, has been a journey of intense touring and marketing, photoshoots, video shoots and long recording sessions. We wait backstage looking forward to each show anticipating it as much as we did the one previous, and are humbled by the applauses and standing ovations from the growing crowds that we continue to gather over the years.
This selection of songs is a combination of original old and new material. All have been played countless times to packed venues and theatres all over Ireland, and each has been crafted and moulded through these shows to become what you hear on this record. We hope you enjoy this album and we thank you for your support.'
